Everything in life has its own "until." Anything you can think of does. From life itself and the act of breathing, to the happy or unhappy moments we spend with a person, a thing, or even a group.
At first, this idea can feel unsettling and even a little sad. But when we accept that today, or even this very moment, might be our until, many things suddenly lose their weight, while emotional and spiritual matters become far more meaningful.
Personally, I believe we should move through our path to happiness the way a blind person does, even if that means taking risks.
Why a blind person? Because a blind person holds a destination in mind, yet moves forward step by step, guided by a cane. When they hit an obstacle, they do not stop. They explore, adjust, and find a way around it. They do not see the entire road ahead. They live within the present moment.
Many people give up along the way because they are obsessed with the destination. Their focus is so locked on the end goal that they miss the joy of the journey itself. The small and beautiful moments along the path go unnoticed.
Learn to feel the present. Move like a blind person. Be happy. Hold on to now.
Whether it is work, life, or a romantic relationship, focus on the journey and enjoy the small radius your cane can reach. The rest reveals itself as you keep walking.
If you break this rhythm and fixate only on the destination, you will give up quickly and change your path entirely. Months or years later, you will mourn the moments you once abandoned. You will blame yourself and think, "I wish I had appreciated those moments more."
And that is when you realize it is already far too late.
